I sometimes wonder how people find FlyingSheep.com. Doing a little research, I came across this, which you might enjoy.

JESUSIFIED: FlyingSheep.com

Ok, let's talk about infinity. There are many types of infinity. There are some infinities which are bigger then others. In fact, some infinities are infinitely bigger than others. Let me give an example.

Natural numbers are positive whole numbers, like 1, 5, 17, and 253345673.
Integers are both positive and negative whole numbers, with 0, so -243, 546, and 0 are integers.

There are infinitely many Natural numbers, right? Sure, because you can start at 1, and you never end.
We say that a set of numbers is countable if it has the same number of things in it as the Natural numbers.

In other words, if a set is countable, you can count the objects in it. You can label them 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.
So, show that the set of integers (both positive and negative numbers) is a countable set.

Go, go do it now. If you have trouble, use the definition above. Good luck.

Well, my monitor shifts horizontally every few minutes for no apparent reason. It's a little annoying, but it doesn't really happen all that often. It's a Futura monitor, and I'm using a Diamond Viper V770 (I think) video card. So, I look online for Futura, hoping to talk to their tech support or at least read a faq. However, I can't find it anywhere. So I call Egghead (where I bought the monitor last week), and they can't find a number for them. So, they have to talk to their Futura rep and get some information back to me. Ah well, it's not that much of a problem. If you know Futura's number, let me know *grin*

Only in mathematics would you find the words Complex and Semi-simple adjacent to each other. Case in point: To satisfy my lanuage requirement for my Master's degree, I have to translate a few pages of French math. The title that I've chosen to practice on is called, "Complex Semi-simple Lie Algebras".

Three words. Big New Monitor.

Why do hot dogs go so well with mac & cheese? The world may never know.

I finished Pinky and the Brain last night. I really got into the game for the last few levels, but the ending was really weak. It was just a slightly-longer-than-usual clip concluding with the famous words, "Same thing we do every night, Pinky. Try to take over the world!" I suppose it was the most fitting clip, but after the clip, it just asked if I wanted to replay that level again. Oh well.

In other gaming news, I've started ROTT (Rise of the Triad) again. Firebombs are awesome. If you've never played this game, give it a go. I'm sure there's a shareware version out there somewhere.

What's in a name? That's the new module I'm working on. I've got about half (maybe more than half) of it done, and I'll get it out there as soon as I can. I've got to work on castles a bit more, it's become a bit unbalanced. That shouldn't take long to fix, though.

Ok, back to work.

I'm working on a new module for FlyingSheep. If you'd like to help, use the email link on the bottom of this page and send me a list of 5 names of people you know (first name only, please) with 10 adjectives that describe them. For example:

Amy is cute, smart, arrogant, judgemental, tidy, lucky, childlike, mean, nosey, humble, zany

Bob is flighty, greedy, healthy, open-minded, polite, crazy, wild, adorable, ugly, tall, childish

Christine is short, shy, boring, easy, reckless, stingy, sweet, trustworthy, friendly, vindictive, weak

Okay, well, that's 11 adjectives per person, but you get the idea. It's okay to use the same adjective to describe more than one person. Don't worry about this person being singled out, all the information is going to be put into a big pot and stirred well. Besides, there will be nothing to tie the descriptions back to your email.

I'm going to do the same for all my friends, but I'd like to start off with a larger sample of data.

Thanks.

It seems odd that different words should be so close to each other. Let's look at a few. On the one hand, "book" and "look" are, and should be, similar. After all, you look at a book. You can use books to describe looks. Then you'd be looking at a look in a book. It's even possible, say in a beauty magazine for chefs, to look at cooks looks in a book. Or crooks and cooks. Those words are related, but it's rather hard to see how they are related. Except, of course, if you consider that most crooks steal "bread". Thieves at rock concerts might steal deadhead's bread so they can have Ed's book read to them in a red lead bed at Club Med while being fed bread by Ned (who was just wed and wants to get ahead of Fred and Ted, or so it's said).

I think I'll stop here.
