I suppose this is my best effort so far at keeping a journal. I've never really been good at, but I can't say that I've made that much of an attempt. That is to say, I've tried keeping a journal before, but usually for a class or some such thing, and I never felt sufficiently compelled to keep up with it. Days would go by, good fun days, but I wouldn't take the time to write about them. Well, when I was in England, I had a pocket calendar which was published by the school in Sutton Valence, Kent. This calendar had all the major events printed on it, but I would also write down my assignments in it. Then I also started writing down my social plans, like vacations, plays, etc. In the end that is probably the best record of what I did while I was in England.
When I started college, I tried to do a similar thing just out of sheets of paper, but, as you can imagine, it didn't work out so well. These days I have an At-A-Glance pocket caledar. I've been using these for a few years now, and it's sort of a ritual during christmas/new years to copy out all the phone numbers, birthdays, and addresses that i want to remember in the following year.

No hidden agenda here. This is about FlyingSheep.com. Oh sure, some thoughts may seem to have nothing to do with Flying Sheep (the more mathematical thoughts in particular come to mind), but this will be an outward expression of the thoughts of the same entity that runs FlyingSheep.com.
