Players: Chip, Sara, Kaj, Shaun, Vitas, Justin, Ben, LeJean, Dagmar, Matt, Rob, Jasper, Liz
Thanks to everyone who came and played games!
FLUXX (0:28)
Kaj, Sara: lost
Chip: won
(0:13)
Chip, Sara: lost
Kaj: won
(0:20)
Chip, Sara: lost
Kaj: won
This is a fun little game. I think it works well as with three or less players, but I think it would seem to chaotic with any more then that. I'd play it again.
ACQUIRE (1:35)
Kaj: 67,500
Sara: 40,900
Chip: 35,100
I thought I had a better chance at winning then last time because I secured the majority of shares in the largest hotel chain. Unfortunately, this caused me to miss out on a lot of mergers during the middle of the game. Sara seemed to like this game, so we may add it to our collection.
BEN HURT (2:22)
Vitas: 194
Kaj: 171
Justin: 77
Chip: 58
Shaun: 0
This is a long, but fun Cheapass game. I think I'll try to drag this out at least once a year, but it takes a lot of time.
MAGIC (?)
I lost two rounds of Magic to Ben. We both agreed that I could have won the first game if I hadn't committed a very silly error. This was part of an unfinished 4-player draft of mostly-common cards from my collection.
I believe that it was a mistake to try to shoe-horn in a time-consuming Magic draft into an afternoon of open gaming. From now on, draft events will be separate. Of course, quick pre-constructed duels are always a welcome option.
CARCASSONNE - HUNTERS AND GATHERERS (1:02 + 0:10 rules and setup)
Rob: 134
Kaj: 109
Chip: 89
Dagmar: 81
This is an enjoyable game. It went a bit slow with two new players (myself and Dagmar), but not overly so. I'd play this game again, or any of the Carcassonne series again.
GUILLOTINE (0:20 + 0:08 rules and setup)
Kaj: 20
Vitas: 18
Rob: 17
Chip: 13
(0:33)
Kaj: 24
Vitas: 23
Rob: 21
Chip: 20
This is a very chaotic and quick sort of game. It has a fun theme, but the "screw your neighbor" element seemed a bit too strong for my tastes. But maybe I'm just saying that because I lost both games (:
I'd play it again, as it only takes a short period of time, but I wouldn't go out of my way to do so.

No hidden agenda here. This is about FlyingSheep.com. Oh sure, some thoughts may seem to have nothing to do with Flying Sheep (the more mathematical thoughts in particular come to mind), but this will be an outward expression of the thoughts of the same entity that runs FlyingSheep.com.
