Raise your hand if you think that life was better 20 years ago. I bet most of you would agree that it was, what with war going on, morality missing, corruption everywhere, school shootings, etc, etc.
But I think if you went to any time period and proposed that statement, most people would agree. So, is the quality of life like entropy, always losing the battle? Or is just that things are getting worse much more rapidly now, as the pull of gravity increases as you near the black hole. Or is it just an illusion, it's always been an illusion, and the quality of life has stayed more or less the same, or possibly even improved a little over the last few decades?
No one's going to prove it one way or the other, so pick your viewpoint and stick with it.
